Linda Yamamoto, Independent
Stampin' Up! Demonstrator
Dear Linda
Back to school!  Even if you don't attend school or have a school age household member, there's something about this time of year....time for a fresh start!

My fall class schedule is falling into place and I'm looking forward to seeing YOU at an event soon!  Don't forget that if you can't make a class on a scheduled evening, if you get a bunch of friends together and I will come to you!!

We've had our first stampers & scrappers club, had a lot of fun and have already revamped the scrappers club format - we're now doing a two page layout each time.  If you're keen on trying scrapbooking (or just finding time to do it!) - come to my NEW scrapbooking class!  You'll get a full Simply Scrappin' kit, we'll make a 2 page layout and you'll go home with enough supplies to make a few more pages!  See below for details.

I'm thrilled to be offering some new class formats and concepts.  My calendar is filling though, so if you'd like to bring the fun to your own home - please contact me soon!  I still have some available dates for in home card making or scrapbooking parties!!  (don't forget - hosting a party in your home means hostess benefits for you!!).

Last note here - I'm working on another video tutorial, so keep an eye on my blog at www.yamstamps.com as I'll post it there when it's done - featuring an easy WOW technique to add that extra "something" to your projects!

Project of the Month

butterfly scallop card

This picture really caught the shimmer of the shimmery white cardstock...so it's a bit hard to see the images, but hopefully you get the idea...

Stamp set:  Flight of the Butterfly 111564 $37.95 (I received this set for free at this year's Stampin' Up! convention!)
Inks:  Pink Pirouette, So Saffron, Bashful Blue
Cardstock:  Pink Pirouette, So Saffron, Shimmery White
Accessories:  Scallop Edge Punch, Blue Gingham Ribbon, Ribbon Slide from Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware.

Stamp the small butterfly randomly in saffron on shimmery white cardstock; stamp solid portion of butterfly in pink pirouette, stamp flowered butterfly on top in bashful blue.  Stamp sentiment in bashful blue.
Place slide onto ribbon, then wrap cardstock with ribbon & secure.  Mount onto So Saffron cardstock, use scallop edge punch to finish bottom edge.  Stamp small flower in pink pirouette randomly on pink card, use scallop edge punch along front of card.  Adhere thin strip of so saffron to inside of card to help those pink scallops stand out more.  (slightly hard to see in this pic, apologies again).
Tool of the Month - Scallop Edge Punch

 Features and Benefits:
The scallop edge punch brings you the quality that you've come to expect from Stampin' Up!'s punches.  It features a thumb lever, and a unique guide that makes a continual strip of scallops FAST and EASY.  It's a quick way of adding a point of interest to your scrapbook pages and cards! Price $19.95

Helpful PunchTips:
  • Before using a punch for the first time punch several times through a scrap paper to remove any manufacturing residue
  • Sharpen punches by punching through aluminum foil
  • Smooth punches by punching through wax paper
  • Punches are not meant to cut through multiple papers at once
  • Images in catalogue are approximate size
  • If you are featuring a stamped image on a punched out shape (e.g. oval, designer label), stamp FIRST, then use the punch upside down so you can see to centre the image perfectly.
  • The Scallop Edge punch does NOT need to be used upside down due to its unique guide - simply line up your punched scallops with the image on the guide - perfectly continuous scallops!

Contest!!

If you haven't noticed, scallops are HOT.  Check out Stampin' Up!'s current Idea Book and Catalogue - there's a scallop design on almost every page!  How observant are you??  Here's your chance to test yourself and WIN.  Count up how many pages there are in the current catalogue that DO NOT feature a scallop designEmail me with your answer, and I will draw from all the correct entries and award 50% off Stampin' Up!'s new scallop edge punch (not including shipping & taxes - you know there had to be small print somewhere, right?!).  The more correct entries I receive, the more winners there will be...  DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES is MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 15th.  Look for my mid month email to announce the winning entries (and the correct answer!).
As always, if I can be of any assistance, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Linda
