Sweet Favour

Don't think that I've shared this photo yet...these are some flower lollies that I made for my TV appearance on CH Morning Live.  I used the Flower Folds Bigz XL Die for the Big Shot to create the flowers, then punched a hole in the centre of them with my Crop-a-Dile and slid the stick of the candy through it.  Quick and easy - so right up my alley!! LOL.  I showed them as an example of something you could give someone on Valentine's Day, but these would also make great party or shower favours / decorations!

I'm trying to focus on preparing for upcoming classes, but keep getting distracted by the TV.  Honestly, I don't think I've watched this much TV in ages!!  I get all nervous and anxious for the Olympic competitors during their races - thankfully crafting is a great way for me to relax, so look for some more creations in the next while on the yamstamps blog here!

Scrapbook in a Box

In the meantime...here's a look at Wednesday's class project - the Scrapbook in a Box.  This is a "step up" from my previous Page in a Box - great if you have lots of family members or lots of photos!

Closed - I had fun with the Scallop Trim Border & Corner Punches! 

 

Open - there are 3 pages on each side for a total of 12 photos or stamped images.  The sentiment in the centre is from the Well Scripted set in the Occasions Mini Catalogue.

Quick treat!

This is a cute idea for treat for a favourite trick or treater!  The wrap is actually a Pillow Box die cut.  The project uses the Graveyard Gala stamp set.  You can see the complete list of supplies used here.

Happy Birthday, "Teddy"!

Build-a-Bear products are available in Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Mini Catalogue!!  They're fun, no matter what your age. Today seemed like a good day to show some cute birthday projects made with Build-a-Bear items, in honour of Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt, born on this day in 1858.  The teddy bear was created and named in his honour after the then President was on a hunting trip and refused to shoot a captive bear (he ordered it released instead). 

The invitation features the Bigz die Stampin' Up bear; the candy box is made with the Fabulous Favours box and Pawsitively Embosslit die, and birthday hat is made from a paper cone and embellished with the Lil' Paws Embosslit die.  If you need more information on these items or projects, feel free to contact me!  See here for the complete instructions on creating these birthday projects.

I'm still here!!

I don't think I ever posted these pics of door hangers that I did for the Crafting with Kids (which morphed into "Manly Crafting") on CH Morning Live last month. I used the Circle Scissors Plus to cut the hole for the door knob.

This are some pillow boxes I made back in February.  I used the Heart to Heart punch on the red pillow box and backed it with a Window Sheet to give a peek at the candies inside.

Checkerboard

Here's the checkerboard from my CH Morning Live appearance.  Great to create on rainy days (which, unfortunately are in the forecast for the southern Ontario area).  I took a 12" x 12" piece of cardstock, then used my papercutter to cut 7 slits 11" long (leaving 1/2" on either end), spaced 1-1/4" apart, starting 2-1/4" from one end.  I cut 8 strips of contrasting cardstock 1-1/4" x 12" (only because I was too lazy to calculate what they should be...lol).  Weave the strips of cardstock through the larger piece, and then adjust the ends & trim to size so you end up with a checkerboard that is 8 squares by 8 squares in size.  Adhere the ends of the strips in place and you're done!  To create the checker pieces, I stamped the star image from the Stampin' Up! set "Wanted" on whisper white cardstock and punched them out with the 1-1/4" circle punch.  Use the 1-3/8" circle punch to create backing circles from the 2 cardstock colours you used.  In my example, I used Apricot Appeal and Almost Amethyst.  The joy of creating your own projects - you can use whatever colour you'd like!!!

Another CH Morning Live Project

Thanks again to CH Morning Live for having me on the show yesterday, and if you're new to my site, welcome!  Please be sure to sign up for my newsletter (see the box at the left) to get more project ideas and tips in your email inbox.

This is the fun flip flop mini scrapbook that I shared.  A cheap pair of flip flops disguises the accordian fold page within.  I used the Serif Essentials Big Shot Bigz Die to cut out the letters (or you could stamp them too) and then cut the photos to size.  My pages were about 2.5" wide, which is as wide as the flip flops, so you'll need to measure your flip flops to figure out which is the right width.  I used 2 lengths of cardstock to create the page above.

Mobiles - as seen on CH Morning Live

OK...if I've done this correctly, this should post just as I'm going on air on CH Morning Live.  I've been fortunate enough to be invited back to the show to share some summer kids crafts.  These are two mobiles I created - a butterfly version and a rocket ship version.  Both are essentially the same concept - the rockets were stamped in Staz On Black and coloured with the Stampin' Write markers, before being punched out with a circle punch.  The butterflies are die cut with the Big Shot and showcase Stampin' Up!'s double sided designer series paper.  Super fun & easy! 

I'm offering this as a kids class in July & August - Saturday, July 18th from 10 am til noon, and Saturday, August 22 from 10 am til noon.  Space is limited.  $15 per child, $25 for 2 siblings, parent welcome to stay to assist their child.  Click here to reserve your spot for July.
