I know that I'd mentioned that Stampin' Up! was not going to be carrying over the Stocking Builder punch from the Holiday Mini Catalogue, just to give you a "heads up" in case you hadn't gotten this cute punch yet! Stampin' Up! has let us know that there ARE items that will be carried over, so that you can still order these items even though they don't appear in a current catalogue.

Holiday Greetings - two versions!! (and last chance to stock up?!)

Hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Festivus... I've had a wonderful time catching up with family and friends, and taking a few moments to catch my breath!

I thought I'd share my Christmas card design with you. If you've been following my blog at all, you'll know that I like to do cards that look great but aren't too finicky. This one suited me to a T! I used the Simply Scored tool to create a few score lines around the edge of the card, and then used my Big Shot to die cut a snowflake from Brushed Silver metallic paper. I silver embossed my greeting to create a tone on tone effect, which I really like!

I then had a brainwave as I had stocked up on some of the fantastic silver Glimmer Paper carried in Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Mini Catalogue - and this is the "bling" version of my card...not so much subtle elegance but more in your face! (still love it, perhaps even more...).

If you LOOOOOVE the glimmer paper like I do, you may want to stock up on a few sheets before they go - they don't appear in the Occasions Mini Catalogue (though fingers crossed they may make a future appearance in a mini catalogue or the next Idea Book?? No guarantees though!).  One thing that I _know_ will NOT be carried over (because Stampin' Up! has warned demonstrators already!) - the cute stocking builder punch! So if you fell in love with that punch, you may want to consider getting one before they disappear!!  The Stampin' Up! Sending Spooky Greetings!

OK, so maybe not so spooky, more cute, but whatever.  This quick and easy card uses the Halloween Hang Ups jumbo wheel (from Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Mini Catalogue) as the main image.  The patterned paper is from the Frightful Sight Designer Series Paper package.  Card is Cajun Craze cardtock and Basic Black cardstock accent.  I took the colours straight from the DSP - no thinking required - just my type of crafting! LOL.

Loving what I do...

This "love"ly card is made using the Filled with Love set from the Holiday Mini Catalogue.  I used the Sizzix adhesive sheets to put adhesive all over the cardstock punch out, and then applied Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the adhesive.  I like how the colour shows through the glitter.  I punched the adhesive sheet with the Scallop CIrcle punch (it's really easy to punch these sheets).  I carefully peeled off the backing sheet (with the words on it) without touching the adhesive surface and placed it onto cardstock, then re-punched the cardstock.  I peeled off the other liner, then glittere for a sparkly accent piece!

A New Sound is Coming

Add a new dimension to your card making with sound! 

One of the new products in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalogue is pre-recorded and/or recordable cards.  The pre-recorded card plays an instrumental version of "We wish you a Merry Christmas".  The recordable card lets you record a message up to 10 seconds and includes a "lock" feature once you've got the perfect message.  This is FANTASTIC for sending to long distance family and friends! 

Cover the cards with cardstock or Designer Series Paper and embellish them for an even more custom look.  Cards measure 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" and fit in our padded envelopes.  Contact me to place your order, or place it online HERE.

Sweet Treats for Hallowe'en!

Stampin' Up!'s Sweet Treat cups are so neat!  This tricky Hallowe'en card comes complete with a treat...  I designed this one so that the recipient could easily access the candy in the cup without totally destroying the card!  Use the 1-3/4" circle punch to create openings in the image, Basic Black cardstock & Only Orange card.  Adhere the sweet treat cup to the back of the image by using mini glue dots on the top rim.  Don't remove the adhesive cover on the back of the Sweet Treat cup rim.  Adhere the image to the Basic Black cardstock with a strip of Sticky Strip along the top & bottom only.  Create a tag by re-stamping the image & trimming so it can slide between the image and black cardstock.  Use the tag corner punch and horizontal punch to finish the tag effect.  Position this over the hole you punched in the card - tada!  (oh, don't forget to fill the cup....LOL).  The jumbo wheel on the bottom of the card is Haunting Hill, and the image is from Sweet Centres - both from Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Mini Catalogue.
