A version of this card was in my last newsletter, showing how to do the faux suede / faux velvet technique that's used for the strip of Cherry Cobbler cardstock along the bottom of the card. I think I called it faux velvet, I think others call is faux suede...but whatever you call it, it's a fun way to add texture to your paper projects!
Please be sure to join my mailing list - I'm going to be moving to a new email server next month so you'll need to be sure to be re-subscribed (use the top link at the left on the blog page, or the link from the last newsletter). Contact me if you have any questions!
One of the latest offerings from Stampin' Up! is patterned fabric. For sewers and quilters, many possibilities for these products spring to mind, I'm sure. For non-sewers (of which, sadly, I seem to have become one, as my sewing machine gathers dust in the corner...), you may wonder what you could use the fabric for. This fun floral accent was created using the Fun Flowers Bigz Die with the Big Shot and the Springtime Vintage Designer Fabric. The flowers were die cut, then spray starched & ironed, but while warm, were scrunched a bit. The flowers then get stacked together as desired, and stitched or glued together, with a Vintage Floral Adornment glued to the centre as a finishing touch. These could be used for papercrafting, home decor or fashion accents. Non-sewers and sewers alike can enjoy the possibilities with Stampin' Up!'s designer fabrics! (Who knows, maybe the non-sewers amongst us will be inspired to pull out that needle and thread?!)
Your next party is sure to be a hit when you give favors and gifts in this fun vintage looking petal cone! This is a brand new product from our Occasions Mini catalogue which was just released last month.
You can use the banner element to attach a label or greeting to the petal cone and scalloped half circle to add huge decorative appeal to the flaps on top. You can also use these elements to create custom embellishments for any other cards or projects as well.
■ Die measures 6" x 8-3/4" ■ Use with standard cutting pads and standard premium crease pads

Today's take on a sweet treat for Valentine's Day is a chocolate bar wrapper and tag. I used the Sweet & Sour Specialty Designer Series Paper to wrap around the chocolate bar and in the Big Shot with the Fun Flowers Bigz die for the flower & centre.
The tag uses an image and sentiment from the set Eat Chocolate and I added the "Happy Valentine's Day" sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.
Please give me your feedback - I've linked the items to my online store so that you can see the images of the sets/dies - is this something you'd like to see in future posts??? Please either leave a comment below (please note that I've had to moderate comments so it won't appear right away), or send me a quick email. Thanks in advance for your input!!
As promised, here's the video tutorial on how to create the easy Glimmer 3D heart from the inside of the "Things I Love" card. Again, if you're viewing the blog post in an email or in a reader, the video link may not appear, so please come to www.yamstamps.com or the yamstamps youtube channel. Thanks for watching!!
This fun birthday card was created using the Stampin' Up! set Create a Cupcake, and the coordinating Build a Cupcake XL punch. I love Pacific Point for birthday cards - I think it's such a bright colour, and suitable for males or females.
I'll have new samples to share with you in the upcoming days. I'm currently preparing for upcoming workshops and stampers club, so lots of creative ideas are flowing! I'll also be on CH Morning Live this Monday morning around 8:20 am sharing some Valentine's cards and samples, so hope you'll be able to tune in. If not, you can be sure that I'll be sharing the video link here on www.yamstamps.com so please keep checking in here!
